THE FOUNDER

Captain Raymond Schwab,

Founded Horizon Sun Charters on November 27, 2015, after being a pilot for a well-established national airline in the South Pacific. Capt. Raymond is fluent in French, English and Swiss-German, has over three decades of flying experience and more than 15,000 flying hours, and flown in some of the most challenging locations on the globe, making him a true expert in his field.

As a Swiss native who grew up in Canada, Capt. Raymond learned to fly airplanes at a young age, working as a Canadian bush pilot for various seaplane operators. He has always been passionate about flying, and he takes his career very seriously, striving to pass on his knowledge and expertise to future pilots who will join him in flying over some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery.

We took a scenic flight taking us over Honda Bay, across the magnificent limestone mountains to Sabang, down along the west coast and then back to Puerto Princesa. It is hard to explain the incredible combination of seeing this captivating Palawan scenery while at the same time continually checking out the simplicity and sturdiness of this awesome 1957 Beaver. Just Amazing! Flying slow & low for a scenic flight through the Mountains of St. Paul, near the Underground River going up north along the coast line to the Islands of Port Barton for snorkelling and Island hopping is definitely a one in a lifetime experience. The Take off & Landing was amazing too! Raymond, the owner & pilot of the iconic seaplane, was very professional at all times. I highly recommend this to all traveler. What's the baggage allowance?

20 kgs for the per seat rate and within the aircraft weight limits for private charter flights.

How many passengers can your seplane carry?

DHC-2 Beaver Seaplane – Up to 6 passengers depending on the load factor.

Can you transport diving gear?

Yes – Our planes can carry diving gear, except for full compressed diving tanks.

What are the passengers reactions to their seaplane experience?

They love it! After years of flying seaplanes, I still have to meet that person who does not like his seaplane experience. Taking-off and landing on the water is something special.

Can we book a flight with just one person?

The per seat flights requires a minimum value of 4 adults and as long as we receive a total amount, equivalent to 4 adults, 1 person can fly.
